Wagner Equipment Co., the Caterpillar dealer for Colorado, New Mexico and far west Texas, is seeking applications for an Electronic Bench Technician in Aurora, CO.

This position will serve as the service technician and troubleshooting expert on the full line of Technology Products offered by Wagner Equipment Co. Provides support and training to both internal and external customers on the full line of technology products.



  • Completes detailed service reports in a timely manner (24hrs from last labor)
  • Completes and submits time cards daily
  • Completes and submits all necessary warranty paperwork for the product being worked on (24 hrs from last labor)
  • Provides assistance in warehouse with testing and upgrading technology components
  • Properly completes all needed paperwork and forms, labels & returns all warrantable parts. This will also include responsibility for shipping components and parts to WECO. stores, repair centers, or factory locations
  • Maintains electronic and hard copy libraries of needed technical service literature


  • Responds in timely manner to customer technical and support calls
  • Communicates well with customers
  • Provides on-site or call-in service support for customer purchased extended support agreements
  • Tracks and reports product problems to appropriate WECo. and factory contacts


  • Communicates possible sales and upgrade leads to the appropriate Tech Products sales staff
  • Provides competitive activity to Technology Sales Specialists
  • Promotes Value Endurance Program products to customers at estimated time


  • Recognizes electronic, electro optical, and mechanical components in a system
  • Recognizes and solders / replaces/repairs SMD components on circuit board. Is able to work with sub miniature components and distinguish colors with / without visual aid
  • Uses a soldering iron to repair circuit boards
  • Uses electronic test instrumentation: oscilloscope, DMM, power supplies, etc.
  • Designs and tests, or follows circuit diagram to build simple testing tools and fixtures to improve work flow
  • Applies working concepts of electronic components and circuits in both analogue and digital circuits
  • Applies a working knowledge of computers and their functioning components
  • Uses Office software's: Word, Excel, PDF's, etc. to perform work
  • Locates, downloads, and uploads applicable software and firmware across the entire tech products range (Ag and MC&G) and keeps these files on PC
  • Provides support for Technology System demos to both internal and external customers. Must develop a good working relationship with customer's operating personnel and provide training and refreshers as needed
  • Learns and becomes self-sufficient in the various suppliers web sites, price books, and manuals


  • Pursues self-development through outside schooling and appropriate professional activities
  • Provides assistance in any number of capacities in the office and warehouse as needed and as workload demands
  • Helps successfully market and support AG and Machine Control & Guidance Technology Products


Minimum Education Required: College degree required. Minimum 2 years Associates Degree in Electronics or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum Experience Required: Two years' experience in electronics or computer repair

This position will be working on both agricultural and earthmoving products. For those occasions when there is no installations scheduled, this position may require work at the WECo. Uravan street building assisting with warehouse inventory and managing warranty items and paperwork.

Other duties as assigned by Manager.
