Wagner Equipment Co., the Caterpillar dealer for Colorado, New Mexico and far west Texas, is seeking applications for a Technology Products Service & Support Technician in El Paso, Texas.

The primary responsibility of the Technology Products Service and Support Technician is the field installation, diagnosis, and repairs of the full line of Caterpillar and Trimble machine control and guidance equipment.  In addition, this role also provides support and training to both internal and external customers on the full line of technology products represented by Wagner Equipment Co. and SITECH Rocky Mtn.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

 Administrative:

  • Completes detailed service reports using STW in a timely manner (24hrs from last labor)
  • Completes and submits time cards daily
  • Completes and submits all necessary warranty paperwork for the product being worked on (24 hrs from last labor)
  • Utilize partner programs such as BC-HCE and SCS900 to create and convert data files
  • Identify and submit orders through the parts department for necessary materials
  • Create, maintain, and save copies of machine files on shared drive
  • Capture pertinent customer and equipment information
  • Maintains electronic copies of needed technical service literature

Interpersonal:

  • Responds in a timely manner to customer technical and support calls
  • Communicates with customers regarding status of installations and repairs
  • Provides on site or remote service support
  • Tracks and reports product problems to appropriate factory contacts
  • Assists service managers in making customer, dealer, and manufacturer policy settlement decisions 

Sales:

  • Communicates possible sales and upgrade leads to the appropriate Technology Sales Specialist
  • Identify and cultivate ongoing product support business opportunities

Technical:

  • Effectively utilize Caterpillar Electronic Technician for troubleshooting and activation of Software Enabled Attachments (SEA) on machines as needed
  • Performs installs, calibrations, and repairs on Agricultural Technology, Mining Technology, Trimble Heavy Civil Construction, and Caterpillar Grade Control products
  • Integrate guidance systems with machine electrical harnessing and hydraulic systems
  • Effectively operate a wide variety of equipment from a variety of manufacturers
  • Diagnose components and install software, firmware, and passcodes
  • Performs basic welding functions
  • Work independently in a field environment following all company and customer specific rules
  • Provides support for Technology Product sales, rentals, training and demos to both internal and external customers. Must develop a good working relationship with customer's operating personnel

Other:

  • Responsible for self-development through outside schooling and appropriate professional activities
  • Provides assistance in any number of capacities in the office and warehouse as needed and as workload demands

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS 

Minimum Education Required: High School Diploma or GED

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations Required:

  • Non-CDL driver's license with clean MVR
  • MSHA certification or the ability to pass certification and annual refresher
