Wagner Equipment Co., the Caterpillar dealer for Colorado, New Mexico and far west Texas, is seeking applications for a Technology Products Specialist. This position is responsible for selling MC&G technology products through current Machine Sales Representatives, serving as the technical and application expert on the full line of Technology Products and supporting infrastructure offered by Wagner Equipment Co. (WECo.) This position will act as the liaison between the dealership, Caterpillar (CAT), and Trimble Engineering for product problems and
technical information. Duties will also include providing technical, training, marketing, and application support for all dealership departments. The Technology Products Specialist will be the Technology Product forward-thinking voice within the dealership to provide input and direction on where Wagner, and the competition's, technology products are going.


Maintains electronic and hard-copy libraries of needed technical and marketing literature
Tracks and reports product problems to sales, CAT, and Trimble
Keeps the manager informed of all sales opportunities as well as competitive activity, lost sales, and makes recommendations on merchandising programs

Assists Sales and Marketing departments in setting objectives, and developing marketing programs to meet WECo.'s goals for Technology Product volumes and profits
Provides/facilitates support and training of Wagner Sales personnel and external customers as the company technical expert on hardware, software, and applications of current and future CAT
Technology and Trimble MC&G products

Develops a good working relationship with customers' operating personnel and provides training and refresher courses as required

Sells Technology Products as factory-installed options and Trimble MC&G products for machines not covered by the CTCT joint venture
Sells upgrades to Technology and MC&G products through the Machine Sales Reps and Product
Support Sales Reps
Assists the salesmen in preparing and presenting quotations, closing sales, leases, and rentals at acceptable gross-profit levels as determined by the Manager
Makes joint customer calls

Assists service managers in making customer, dealer, and manufacturer policy settlement decisions
Acts as technical contact for external and internal customers (phone and walk-in)
Supports CSA group as they administer Wagner Technology Products Service Agreements, as well as software and firmware agreements on CAT technology and Trimble MC&G products, and provides the dealer level call-in support for these agreements
Facilitates internal and customer acceptance of these products by being a reliable source of information on these products and requires third-party data preparation services as they transition their operations to take advantage of the productivity gains these products provide
Promotes self-development, through outside schooling and appropriate professional activities
Provides support and coordinates Technology System demos to both internal and external customers
Plays active role in reducing our costs on CSA's and MARC's through efficient application of technology products and keeps our sales force and customers informed of the value presented by the Wagner
Product Support programs that technology products enable

Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's degree in business or engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Minimum Experience Required: Minimum of 5-years dealership experience with CAT or Trimble

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations Required:
Must be able to acquire MSHA and OSHA certification for working at mine sites
Valid Driver's License and driving record that meets standards
